Dr. Anne-Marie Miller is Project Manager, CRDI CÚRAM Partnership. Clinical Research Development Ireland (CRDI) is a funded partner in CÚRAM, the national centre for research in medical devices. The CRDI / CÚRAM Partnership focuses on ‘Developing Key Structures and Resources to Support Medical Device Clinical Research in Ireland - https://www.crdi.ie/research-curam/’ and provides significant opportunities to advance medical device clinical research through the development of education, training and information resources designed to impart important industry, research and regulatory concepts relevant to the entire life cycle of medical device development.
Project deliverables include an interactive e-Learning module focusing on the ‘Fundamentals of Medical Device Design and Regulation’ and web-portal ‘MedTechTranslate’ designed to support the acquisition of skills and knowledge on medical device regulation, map regulatory requirements and pathways to the medical device life cycle, signpost users to regulatory organisations and provide access to pertinent resources and documentation as well as supporting cross-sector connections (academic/clinical/industry) to support medical device innovation. Significantly, the ongoing success of this work is underpinned by constructive engagement with industry, regulators, academic researchers, clinicians and the national clinical research infrastructure.
Anne-Marie brings a comprehensive mix of research experience to this role ranging from basic research to international research coordination and translation in hospital settings, e-learning development, and stakeholder management. She has a BA and PhD in Neuroscience from TCD, followed by postdoctoral positions in TCIN, three years as National Scientific Project Coordinator with the BIOMARKAPD consortium (52 partners in 21 countries) and as Research Coordinator with Dementia & Neurodegeneration Network Ireland. Anne-Marie also holds a BA in History and Politics (UCD) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations.
